job goal / purpose:

the finance manager is responsible for all aspects of the school’s finance department, including all reporting requirements and management of the finance team, who are responsible for general ledger preparation, invoicing, cash management, accounts payable and credit control. other responsibilities include implementing procedures, policies and regulations. in addition, the finance manager has a crucial role in maintaining and overseeing accounting controls and reporting procedures to ensure the financial integrity of the school as well as the preparation of annual budgets. the finance manager represents the school in working with our external auditors, banks, tax consultants and local government finance officials.

duties / responsibilites:

key responsibilities:


·oversee the overall operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure to achieve departmental goals and objectives

·manage and maintain the accounting systems to support the schools needs and requirements.


·lead and manage the preparation of the annual school budget

·report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reason for those variances

·assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction.

·work with budget holders to develop their understanding and use of the financial information

3.funds management

·forecast cash flow positions, projections for the current and future years, and available funds for investment

·ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements

·maintain banking relationship

·liaise with financial analyst and recommend invest funds

4.financial analysis

·engage in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement

·interpret the school’s financial results to management and recommend improvement activities

·compile key business metrics and report on them to dfo/school management

·manage the annual budgeting process, based on admission enrollment projection and recommend a school fee increase

·create additional analyses and reports as requested by dfo

other duties:

managing both prc and usa financial year end accounting process to prepare for a different financial auditmanaging the annual financial and internal audit and appointed tax accountant to ensure timely submission of us annual tax returnsmanaging aisg local business tax returns if required by prc tax authoritymanaging the collection of all student billings and communication with fee debtors and late paymentsmanage state department grant survey application and reimbursementmanage school fixed asset register, lead and conduct annual fixed asset inventory


extensive knowledge in finance and accountancy, budget management, and finance management.proven team management experience, leadership, and organizational skillsstrong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skillsstrong communication skills included verbal and written as well as presentation abilitybe able to multi-task or project simultaneously, meet deadlines and work independently and s part of the team, even under stressful conditions

qualifications and experience required:

bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required5+ years’ experience in a financial management positionproficient in microsoft excel and powerpointprior forecasting and reporting experience a plus
